Reverse Osmosis Water Purifier Installation in Southeast Michigan
HOWELL | BRIGHTON | PLYMOUTH | ANN ARBOR | FENTON & SURROUNDING AREAS
Although most of Southeast Michigan has safe, high-quality tap water with contaminant levels that fall below regulatory thresholds, some areas do have slightly elevated levels of things like arsenic, nitrates, VOCs, or even lead. One of the most effective ways to eliminate these impurities is with a reverse osmosis or RO system. Consisting of several filtration stages, it removes virtually all contaminants from your water, leaving clean, healthy water that's safe for your family and plumbing.

What Is the Reverse Osmosis Process?
Most reverse osmosis systems contain at least three stages of filtration. Water first passes through a sediment filter to remove larger particles like sand that could damage the RO membrane. A carbon filter is the next stop, removing any tastes or odors from the water, as well as chemicals like chlorine. Finally, water is pushed through the reverse osmosis membrane at very high pressures. This semi-permeable membrane features holes that are just large enough for water molecules to fit through while blocking contaminants like salts, minerals, heavy metals, microplastics, and more. In areas with wells, a UV light may be added to kill microorganisms like bacteria and viruses, and another carbon filter may be added after the RO membrane to remove any remaining tastes or odors.
RO systems can be up to 90 to 98% effective at removing dissolved solids and contaminants from the water, while basic carbon filters can only remove tastes, odors, and some chemicals like chlorine. Multi-stage filters can remove more contaminants, but they are not nearly as effective as an RO system.
What Does the Installation Process Look Like?
When you call our team to install an RO system, our experts will do an initial assessment to evaluate your plumbing, determine your water requirements, and recommend the best model to fit your needs. RO systems are available as under-cabinet units that provide water for drinking and cooling only, as well as centrally located systems that serve the entire home.
Our experts will mount the pump and filtration system, connect the water supply feed, the discard water drain, and the RO water output. We have extensive experience installing RO systems, and we will make sure yours performs as expected.
